Archinfo, together with The Dry Collective and the Finimalism project, is organising a mini-seminar with two discussions. Second part Finimalize this! invites three specialists, architect Eero Renell, Director of Architecture, Design and Fashion at the British Council Sevra Davis, and Finnish-Norwegian architect Iisa Eikaas to take a look into our everyday tasks, items and concepts – and finimalize them. By finimalizing, we mean making more value with less resources: finding new mindsets, creating surprising solutions and building a new platform for co-operation between designers from different fields. Finimalize this! takes a look into what has been self-explanatory: what we take for granted and what has the potential to become more. In the live workshop, our guests will have the chance to inspire and create spontaneous ideas as a team, and provoke thoughts on how we see our daily surroundings. The discussion is organised by The event is organised by Finimalism, a joint initiative of Archinfo Finland, Finnish Design Info and Fashion Finland. The event will be streamed.

‘Venezia e la Biennale’ deals with the social impact of the Biennale and its yearly projects on the city of Venice. This moderated discussion among experts of national pavilions, the Biennale, the city administration, and local activists is a public event that is to include especially the local population. The goal is to arrive at a compact synopsis of the relationship between the Biennale and the city of Venice and their stakeholders’ various interests and approaches. This will be followed by an open exchange with the audience. Essential questions to be discussed are: What is the Biennale’s contribution to the city of Venice? In what ways does an exchange with the local population exist? What is the role played by local citizens’ initiatives? In what ways do the pavilions cooperate with the Biennale? How can this cooperation be improved? How could the pavilions reflect upon, organise, and bundle their activities, thus having a positive impact on the city of Venice? The event will be held in English and simultaneously translated into Italian.
No registration required; seats are limited. Online participation via Livestream. https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89587475964?pwd=bzlBeTVLVzRXTHl4MkgzdzZ3K2RBQT09
